I’m Cody, a flatpicker from East Tennessee who’s spent years chasing down what makes bluegrass guitar feel right.
From long nights picking on Knoxville porches to studying at East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass & Old-Time Country Music program, I’ve been lucky to learn from players like Barry Bales (Alison Krauss and Union Station) and Robert Bowlin (Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Boys)...musicians who taught me that tone, timing, and heart matter more than flash.
Before teaching online, I spent years in the classroom, learning how to keep students engaged and make new concepts stick.
That experience taught me how to explain things clearly, meet learners where they are, and build lessons that actually connect. Bringing those same principles into the digital space has allowed me to help guitar players of all ages make steady, lasting progress, no matter their starting point.
